Daily Helping:
Week 02 (January 08 - January 14):
During this 7 day period, make for certain that you do not overlook the simple means by which you can serve children to the end that they will be impacted by the seeds you plant in each of their lives. Don't worry about whether or not you will see the fruit of your labor, just keep plowing and sowing like a good farmer and the harvest will come in time. Do your best to work smarter, not harder, because you must reserve inner strength for your students, colleagues and your own family and closest friends. If you are too busy each day with an abundance of paper work, lesson planning, meetings and additional responsibilities handed down from the bureaucrats in government positions and agencies, as much as they each deserve respect, then you will miss many opportunities, professionally and personally, to celebrate the most important and critical moments and purpose of daily living: meeting the needs of others, especially children, when they need it the most; we cannot be very effective in helping others, namely our students and our family members, who are in need when we have needs, beyond which is reasonable, in our lives personally! Diligently consider individually, with others in the profession and with others who you trust on the journey of life, how you can impact the education profession, your community and world, through exercising your civic opportunities, with that which pertains to reforming various areas of public education to the degree that unnecessary busy work for teachers and administrators can be modified so that caring professionals in the lives of children have less stress to deal with in order to better cultivate a nurturing and compassionate classroom environment where learning thrives. Ideally, relationships are truly first and rigor and relevance are not far behind. Realistically, the workload for educators is not looking like it will be decreasing; thus, you MUST be proactive in figuring out what you need to do to have peace in your life while functioning in the realm of business that you do as an educator. Don't give up; if you are called to this privilege, then you will find the strength to be sustained if you truly are honest and diligent; humility, patience and love will definitely be your foundation! Contact J.T.A.S.P. for resources that can serve as a means to this glorious end: pursuing peace and contentment in a troubled world, where the wise persevere and love always wins.
